Holly Tafe is an artist base in Glasgow working in paint and mixed media. With a natural affinity for visual storytelling, Holly pursued her passion for the arts and earned a BA in Fine Arts from Glasgow School of Art. This formal training honed her technical skills and deepened her conceptual understanding, allowing her to develop a unique artistic voice that resonates with audiences.
Holly’s subjects are a rich tapestry that weaves together themes of myths, dreams, and modern cultural icons. Her work transcends traditional boundaries, inviting viewers into a world where the ancient and the contemporary coalesce. Through her art, she explores the universal human experience, drawing on mythological archetypes and dreamscapes to comment on modern life and its complexities.
Her paintings are characterised by their vivid colour palettes and dynamic compositions, often incorporating elements of collage and written words. This mixed media approach adds layers of texture and meaning to her pieces, creating a sense of depth that encourages viewers to look closer and engage more deeply with the narratives she constructs.
Holly has exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy as part of the 2024 New Contemporaries show, as well as numerous solo and group exhibitions.
